GOVERNMENT REPRESENTATIVE ON NLC COMMITTEE FOR KUMASI SWORN-IN OFFICE.

The Chairman of the National Labour Commission Mr. Andrew Kwabena Asamoah has sworn into Office Mr. Kwabena Boateng Esq, the Government representative on the Regional Committee of the Commission in the Ashanti Region. He will also serve as the Regional Chairman of the Committee in the Region.

He stated that the work of the Commission of the Regional Committees of the Commission have greatly supported the work of the Commission in the delivers of justice in labour and industrial disputes brought in the country.

He said since the region was the “second capital” there may be obviously many industrial disputes there and so much efforts needed to be put in by the Committee members to resolve such cases.

Mr. Asamoah advised the Committee in Kumasi to be guided by the Labour Act, ACT 651 of 2003 and legislative Instruments 1822 and 1833 in all decisions they make.

He expressed delight at the appointment of Mr. Kwabena Boateng and was hopeful that the work of the Commission in Kumasi would be expedited.

The Commissioners took turns to advise the newly sworn member of the Regional Committee on how to go about his duties for the attainment of the goals of the Commission.

The Commission assured him of their highest support at all times.

The ceremony which took place at the Head Office of the Commission, brought together the Commissioners and some management members of the Commission including the Executive Secretary, the Director of Administration and Human Resource, the Director of Industrial Relations as well as the Director of Legal and Officials of the Public Affairs Unit.

On his part Mr. Kwabena Boateng thanked the Commission for the confidence reposed in him. He said he would be guided by the constitution and the statutes in the discharge of his duties.

He assured the Commission of upholding the principles of fairness and objectivity at all times in his work.

He noted that as a lawyer, he would bring his expertise to bear on his work as Chairman of the Committee in the region and would also work in unity with his colleagues as well the staff for the smooth running of the place.
