The National Labour Commission (NLC) established under the Labour Act, 2003 (Act 651) invites suitable candidates to fill the following vacant positions:
ASSISTANT PUBLIC AFFAIRS OFFICER
JOB PURPOSE:
To plan, develop, implement and evaluate information and communication strategies to create understanding of the work of the Commission.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBITIES
- Planning and organizing publicity campaigns and communication strategies
- Advising on the public relations implications of policies, programmes and practices, and preparing and controlling the issue of news and press releases
- Undertaking and commissioning public opinion research, analyzing the findings and planning public relations and educational campaigns
- Representing and arranging interviews with publicity media
- Commissioning and obtaining photographs and other illustrative material
- Selecting, appraising and revising material to create favourable publicity
QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelors’ Degree in Journalism or Media Relations from a tertiary institution
- Minimum of two (2) years working experience performing same or similar role

- Communication, writing, reporting and presentation

- Ability to work with minimum supervision
- Practical Knowledge in Media practices
- Computer proficiency skills
SECRETARY
JOB PURPOSE:
To serve as an administrative professional who plays an integral role by performing, maintaining, and organizing office tasks, implementing procedures and carrying out administrative duties.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Organizing documents and paperwork and maintaining filing system
- Assisting superiors and staff with official tasks
- Recording proceedings/minutes
- Typing documents
- Answering and directing phone calls
- Organizing and distributing messages
- Maintaining work schedules
- Organizing documents and files
- Maintaining office supplies
- Scheduling meetings
- Implementing administrative procedures
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- Higher National Diploma (HND) or its equivalent qualification, Certificate in Secretaryship
- WASSCE
- Certificate in Computer Software Application e.g. MS Office
- Minimum of two (2) years working experience performing same or similar role
COMPETENCIES & SKILLS
- Effective time management
- Good communication – written and spoken
- Ability to withstand pressure
- Work with minimum supervision
- Report writing
- Practical knowledge in secretarial work
